    best way to install m20?

Iv searched and all I found was people saying to install it from top or bottom. I want to know the best mounting points for the load leveler. I don't have the intake Mani or exhaust on yet so its just block head and tranny.

I've heard of people using the hook on the front and the intake manifold but I just got it painted and don't want to scratch it up.

Any insight would be great

There's the hook on the front behind the cam gear/timing belt cover (or at least there should be, some engines I've seen have lost them over the years) and there's a loop on the back of the block near the hole for the starter that is also meant for this purpose. Snag through hook at front, and loop at back and you're good. Load leveler depends if you're putting tranansmission in with the engine. Without the tranny, it'll typically just drop straight in without load leveler adjustment. With the tranny, you'll have to adjust it to tilt the transmission in then use it to level it all out.

The past few in/outs I've done I have put a short chain around each motor mount arm then attach to the hook on your engine hoist and then negotiate it in. It's a lot easier with the accessories and mech. fan off.

I always install it as a complete engine/trans unit. Hook a chain to the block in the rear (above the starter) and to the hook in the front.

If you have access to a lift, going out the bottom is the most efficient.

I use a crane at home, bc no lift. it's 3 hour out and 4 hours in. some people here who have lifts can do it 1.5h each way.

Yea I'm putting it in with the trans because I already have them connected.

I didn't think to use that hole near the starter so I'll prob use that, thanks for the info fellas

I hate the loop in back-
I bolted a 6" chunk of 1/2" strap to it last time
I dropped the motor in, and it made things easier.
