How to ID the correct injectors

Hi;
I've been considering to have a spare set of injectors available in case mine foul up. However, I see that they are advertised by different colors and pressure levels. I don't want to take mine out just to take a look (if I can avoid it).
My car is stock (1990 325i automatic). Does anyone know for sure what color and pressure my injectors should be? I don't plan to put any performance chip so stock is my way of choice.

your injectors are 14.5#

color is a rough guess but really you want the part # on the injectors, because they come in lots of similar colors. (yellow, gray, black, green, etc). Color doesn't really tell you the size.

I searched the RealOEM.com and found the following 3 different part #'s:

1) Injection Valve - 13 64 1 466 394
2) Injection Valve - 13 64 1 731 357 (Lucas)
3) Injection Valve - 13 64 1 734 776 (Bosch)

I didn't find any color nor pressure data reference.

So my question is: would I be safe to conclude that - regardless of color - as long as the injectors are rated for 14.5 #'s I'm good to go?

Yes but keep in mind that your car has injectors rated 14.5lbs at 3bar of fuel pressure. Not all cars run the same fuel pressure. For example m50 injectors are 17lbs at 3.5 bar but if ran at 3 bar like an e30 they will be pretty close to the stock 14.5lbs

they are rated 17# *at* 3 bars. Injectors aren't rated at 3.5 bars. They're still 17# to an M20 running stock fuel pressure, they're effectively a little bigger on an M50.

I discovered that the fpr on my car is 2 bar instead of 3 bar. Could this have any impact on performance? Should I get a 3 bar fpr? I do encounter hard starting after car has been driven for awhile. BTW, I also discovered that the fpr I had installed didn't have the rubber o-ring at the tip that goes into the rail.

Run the stock 3 bar regulator and replace your o rings to prevent pressure loss and leaking.
