ARP studs.. washers/no washers? Cant get a straight answer

I ordered some arp m20 studs a few months back. Putting them in, I remembered that some guys said reuse the oem washers. I looked on IE and it says the kit comes with washers, bolts, and studs. I contacted a few places and got moved to a guy (forget who or the site he was from). He said the kit should come with it and its necessary.

My kit was brand new and just has the torx nuts with a washerbase connected, no separate washers and the studs. I called IE and they said that running no washers is normal.

I have also googled that you can use oem washers.

So what is the verdict? I know IE has been around forever so I am just trying to confirm what works best.

Should of come with washers, I would run the stock ones if not. Keep an eye on the stud length and make sure if has full threads for the nut.

The point of the washers is both to be a load spreader and to move the friction from the aluminum head casting to steel. You need the washers.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

IE did not used to include the ARP washers. I was the one who got them to do it!

You can order ARP washers or just run the OEM washers.

the stock washers will work fine. they're not exactly a wear item.

I would not use steel bolts on an aluminum head without washers.

I had the same issue. I just re-used the stockers. It listed as them being apart of the package but i didnt get any.

I had 2-3 threads still above the deck, like they werent bottomed out, but they were, as they were all the same height, and i had cleaned the wholes. Anyone else see this issue? SETA motor

I contacted IE about the stud kits a couple of weeks ago, and they told me to reuse the stock washers, but most of my engine bay was in the trunk of my car when I bought it, so I honestly don't know if all of them are there, but they told me they would sell me a set.

Matt's pretty persuasive, as of about 2 months ago the IE kits started to receive washers. If anyone didn't receive washers after that point then please email/pm me directly. As for any tech. ?'s feel free to email/pm.
