    Weird oil leak

    Hello people,

ik had this weird thing yesterday. Just bought some new rims (bbs RZ 378, yummie yummie) and wanted to put them on the car yesterday.

I ususally dont lift the front of the car by putting the jack underneath the oil pan. But yesterday i did so. And after being lifted for about 2 minutes I spotted a little puddle of oil.

Normally my car does leak a bit but like 5 drips in 1 day. Yesterday with the jack underneath it went very very quick. Once i put the car back on the ground the leaking stopped (or normalised to almost nothing).

I am wondering if you guys have ever experienced this with an m20. I fear that my oil pan doesn't seal good and once having a load on it a minor opening appears or something.

Does someone know something about this?

    Thanks guys

BTW, is it really not done to jack an e30 m20 by its oil pan?

Agreed you put a crack in the pan or just made an existing one bigger.

            Where's the :fail: smiley?

Check oil pan for cracks. Aluminum oil pan can barely keep itself from leaking under normal conditions.

if you really gotta do that, at least put a long 2x4 between the jack and pan lol.

but coulda used subframe with the 2x4.. or each side on proper points.. or anything else!! lol!!!

              bad luck friend.
