    Idle Control Module failure?

What are some symptoms of a failing Idle Control Module on an eta M20?

Trying to narrow some things down.
    Thanks -

Take it off, shake it. If it sounds like a baby toy then it is okay. If it feels solid and no movement, it is stuck and needs replacing.

Nope, this is the ICModule, the little blue or green box next to the DME, which controls the idle control valve. I already replaced the ICV.

        But thanks!

Unplug the connector and smell inside the case. If it smells burnt, its bad.

After ruling out all other possible cause of an unstable idle, the module becomes the suspect.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

re: Greg - Well there's a basic test! I'll try it. Just bought a spare DME to try as well.

OK, I'm getting there. It's down to too tight valve adjustment, the used FPR might be bad, DME, ICM, or wiring issues.
