hey bud, im doing the samething, I just got my M52b28 crank and m20b27 rods, I got a quote from a respectable machine shop for about $800, that's cutting down the counterweights, balancing, blueprinting and cutting down the block .25mm
that's pretty much the ball park of doing itOnwer of

$800 is an astronomical price.
I don't know the exact prices off hand but we can have it done a lot cheaper here!Comment

cutting down the crank is usually $200-300 here. then add on cutting the block and my guy would charge me $300. but still $800 seems over priced.Comment

That might be a few hundred right there. It's pretty time- consuming.blueprinting
Figure $150- 200 for weights, $200 for balance, $100 for a block cut, and that leaves $300 for
blueprinting. If that's the whole engine, that's a fair price.
It all depends on what's getting done. Is the shop factoring in new fasteners in the
blueprint? That'd do it right there...
tnow, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george gravesComment
