I'm not positive where this stuff goes. picture is from a VR head gasket set and block gasket set.

    11 & 12 look like Oil Return tube o-rings
13 looks like cam shaft seal o-ring

11 & 12, yeah, that looks about right.
13 tho, i still dont see where it would go.
3 i found to go to the top of the cog bearing housing for the oil pump

any other ideas guys? like these silver rings for example...
im putting this thing together as we speak ... at least i have started but like i said, not sure if im missing something.

13 goes behind the cover for the cam shaft seal.

When I did the head gasket on my car I didn't use any of the silver rings. I would guess they are some kind of crush washer but I can't see anything on the head that would require them.

ya the silver rings are crush washers for the variose plugs going into the engine, like the coolant block drain, the plug on the d-side by the starter(I now the m30 has one not sure about m20). etc....

a regulor paper gasket is used between the Throttle and intake. Realy the only O-ring seal in the head is for the front cam seal housing, and then the crank case breather tube.

Are there more then 1 #10's as they could be Fuel injector o-rings or for the cold start valve

no really, i dont believe you. lol

the timing end of the head is the only opening and its way small. the cam seal is one of those reddish with metal and a spring inside that gets pressed into a bolted on ring.
(although i got cam and crank mixed up in my head when i last responeded... brain fart ya know)

2 and 4 are whats left then... thanks for the feedback thus far!!

there is an o-ring for the cam seal cover as well, aside from the cam seal itself.

Yeah Nando is right, there is an o-ring as well, and woe be to those that forget to replace it...

4 could be for the oil level sensor.
