    NGK dont fit?!?!

    My engine was missing just barely, so I pulled spark plugs first, like anybody would do. spark plugs were disgusting. I go down to Orielly's, pick up NGK plug - correct temp and plug for the m20.

    MOTHERFUCKERS WILL NOT FIT ON THE DAMN WIRES?! IM BEYOND PISSED!!!!! its the simplest thing in the world and they literally will not fit. I noticed that the tops (where the wires go on) is different, and actually significantly. after some searching, I found that I do have the right plugs - ZGR5A part #5077.

    Someone tell me what the fuck is going on here please

    Thanks much and sorry for the blind rage.

    GOD DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!:hitler::hitler:

    There is a threaded cap on the top of the plug. Unscrew it with pliers.

      Is the top of the spark plug a threaded shaft or smooth, roundish metal tip?

      It should be threaded for the e30 plugs. On most plugs the stud is removable, and will twist off with pliers, but some are fixed, so don't go all hulk hands with it and break the plug.

          Haha. I think everyone who has ever worked on a car has had that EXACT moment at one point. The more forgetful ones probably more than once.

          I KNOW about this, and still forget to screw the stud off nearly every time I replace spark plugs. I get all 6 in, try to re-install a plug wire, slap my forehead, and well... you know the rest.

            Did this work ?

            O'reillys has the wrong ngk plug listed for our engines and it has a fixed cap on it. If this is the case, return them for the correct plug.

                I'm sure O'reillys recommends a platinum plug too. I know Napa does. ugh.

                  This is one of those moments where you could learn that a bit of research could have saved you from this embarrassing fiasco.

                            went to buy some NGK BPR6ES and knew i had to unscrew the little bastards on the end. except i bought NGK BPR6ES-11 by accident which look almost identical and when i unscrewed them the whole centre electrode/core came out to. probably should have realized something was up when it took about 4 times the effort
