Stroker build, cam and piston question

Hey guys, I'm building up my M20B27. I plan on canning and boreing it. I was wondering how the 280/274 cam is? I want it to be pretty mean. I also read somewhere I can use ford piston from a mustang, I would need to bore it. Can I use them? And what rods would I need? How would this setup run? And how much power do you think I would be getting? Thanks guys!

I've never heard of anyone using mustang pistons. If you're talking about 302 pistons there's not a chance of those working. The bore on that engine is 4" which is WAY too big for the M20. If you want to build a stroker you can bore 1mm over and buy custom Ross Racing pistons from Ireland Engineering. Combine those with your Eta crank and some 135mm rods and you'll have a nice little 2.8L M20. I'd go for around 10:1 compression and a 274 cam. Rods can be from a M20B25 or upgrade to S52 rods.

consider how you will get it tuned. it will not turn out well if you do not deal with this aspect.

I was mistaken when I said 302. But it was some ford pistons, I'll have to find it again. What would be the power output on the setup you said?
