    Best m20 headers? opinions? thoughts?

Best headers to buy for my m20 b25 325i? Not to expensive but I hear stories about the eBay ones leaking? Any ideas? Thanks

There is no single right answer.....

    -What is "expensive" to you?

-What kind of engine are you running? (cam, intake, chip, stroker, etc.)

-Have you researched other headers using the search function, what have you found so far?

IE long tubes look ok, similar to the old BAVAUTO. go for longest tubes you can find the short tube ones are just a free flowing manifold hence they dont do much

The cheap eBay headers are straight garbage. The more expensive long tubes on eBay (around $260) are similar to BavAuto headers and actually pretty nice. The IE shorty headers are nice for the money but some claim they don't provide much for gains. The new IE long tube headers are very nicely made in the USA.

What kind of gains are typical for a stock M20 running the Hartge headers? The project car I recently bought came with them and they look pretty nice.

Also, any idea what they're worth? I'm new to E30s so I don't know.

Only if it's in mint condition.

I sold my e21 M20 Hartge headers a couple years ago for $450 to a friend of a friend. E30 fitment should be worth more and i know i sold on the low end. I would value them at 600-1000 depending on condition.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the headers and valve cover are worth more than what I paid for the car!

These look like the best ones for the money, I'm just looking to do a exhaust, intake and a chip for a fun to mess around in. Opinions on these ?

Hartge catalog claims 8hp gain on Hartge headers. The Alpina B3 2.7 Alpina headers are bigger in diameter than Hartge m20. If you get lucky on ebay to finding a set.

If your budget is tight then ebay ones.

would be nice if there was a sticky with different setups and primary size, length, secondary size etc

                          BTB3(UK RHD compatible) 1-5/8" primary, 650mm long; 1-7/8" secondary 550mm to X-pipe

Yes those are the ones. They're not bad at all. We put them on Myster-E's car.

Meh. M20 chip and header. Do it for the fun. Don't do it for a logical reason. $/HP on both are off the charts.

With that said, if you can't do a swap, it's a fun upgrade. ebay will be your friend.
