    M20 Stroker Power numbers

I'm really curious as to what numbers (hp/tq) people are putting down with their various m20 stroker setups.

The reason I am asking is because I am looking to go turbo stroker on my m20 in the future. My start would be a completely rebuilt, stroked out m20, then adding a turbo later and I want to figure out various stroker power outputs.

    Thanks in advance guys

Avarage whp seams to be around 180 to 200. Anything more starts to get expensive. And if your plans are going turbo then you really can't expect much with a low compression stroker. The question is how deep are your pockets, are you planning on custom pistons?

Ssquid tuning has dyno charts on nearly every 2.7i chip they sell by the description.

From my experience though, I picked up 75wtq on the same psi from the same turbo going from a standard 2.5i to a low compression 2.7i.
Only differences between setups were a bigger intercooler, equal length manifold vs not, and a 3.5" DP vs 3".

I'm sure there are tuning differences. But info is info I guess!

Well thanks for the replies guys! I don't think I will be going as far as custom pistons, but I am trying to decide between the 2.7L bottom end and the IE 2.9L stroker kit... Anyone have experience with the IE stroker kits?

Ireland engeering is very good, I just ordered pistons and rods from them and they have awesome customer service. The best thing is to give them a call and just talk it over because they are very knowledgeable

IE sells Ross Racing pistons. We use these on all of the strokers we build as well. Very nice quality.

We actually just build a 2.9L 8.5:1 engine for a customer who will be boosting it.

If I can be of any help feel free to PM or email.

Thank you so much! Exactly the kind of feedback I have been looking for. I will be in touch in the near future.

I hope to go the 2.9L route rather than just the basic 2.7L

Yep, I work at IE, Ross makes them to our specs/dish. Have used just about every major piston supplier over the years.

One note of initial advice. Your optimal piston specs for a good NA build and Turbo build will be very different. A proper 2.9L is my personal favorite as far as stroker setups.

it was eluded to before either build for FI or build for NA. dont bother trying to do both especially if the turbo is really a pipe dream
