    Engine stored for 3 years....

I'm selling it and need to run compression tests.

Is there anything special I need to do before cranking this over by hand to do the tests? Should I spray anything in the cylinders?

It was a strong running motor when pulled, I'd like to get the numbers without causing any damage.

    Help?

I always like to spray just a tad of Marvel Mystery oil in each cylinder if had been setting a while.

Squirt some regular 15W40 would be just fine before hand-cranking the engine.

Nope. Pull the plugs, roll it over. The oil's still in there.
But it's a good idea to roll it over enough to get oil flow, then get
oil onto the cam. In fact, might grease the cam just for good measure.
I usually spin it on the starter until it shows good pressure....

            Cool, thanks!

It's on a subframe with no trans or accessories so using the starter isn't really an option. :(

With the plugs out you could drive the crank bolt with an electric drill or impact wrench.

Change the oil, after all those years of sitting the engine accumulated moisture into the oil.
