Hey all; currently halfway through getting the timing belt off and I've run into a conundrum. I can figure out for the life of me how to get the distributor rotor off. I've used a dremel, still too soft for a screwdriver. Any tips?

you would have to grind off the 3 bolt heads totally down to rotor in order to pull it.
well, I'm sorry, but I don't think this timing belt job is for you.
Step 1. Have all the proper tools.Comment

First try buying an ez out from any tool supply store. If that doesn't work, try getting a Dremel and grind a groove in the head of the screw to simulate a flat head screw, then remove with a flat head screw driver.

The radiator is out, right? Cause that is soooooooooo totally worth it.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"Comment

Good tools are always helpful but I know you can bust the rotor apart and remove the bolts pretty easily with pliers once you have more room. Rotors are a wear item most people could use replaced anyway.Shawn @ Bimmerbuddies
