I've seen a few guys just tap the intake and block, used some AN/NTP fittings and a hose....

I will follow up with results after I let this dry in 24 hours. If it still leaks, I'm joining you on the threaded journey.

Okay so I let it cure for more than two days, with 2 thick layers of RTV all the way around and another thin layer ontop of that.

I went to the gas station today and was hopeful because it had no sign of leaking. Then by the time I got to work it was leaking just the same as before.

My last attempt at this will be taking the manifold back off again, taking the tube and O ring out, putting RTV on the lip inside the crankcase, putting the O ring back on and RTV over that again, then putting RTV around the tube before putting it back in there.

            God damnit.

              I like this idea.

              Early models do it better.

I just went through a major hassle getting them at the local dealer, but the car isn't on the road yet, so hopefully....

If I build another M20, I'll probably do this. Not that I've ever had trouble with the bitch tube I just like the cut of its jib.

Huh, i didn't realize those o-rings were rare .. i just took them out and measured them up to a box of o-rings i had handy. No leaks at all o_O.

If you have a lot of blow by in the bottom end, it'll leak even with the o-rings good. If it keeps leaking, id maybe check to see if this is an issue.
Just a little project im working on

Yeah, I have seen that too, just seems a lot of time, money and hassle for what it it....think about threading that thing into the underside of the manifold!

isn't the bottom o ring a squared o ring? or maybe the top? idk but i thought i remember one of them being squared.

they go square over time i believe

is it leaking from top or bottom? are you sure its from the tube and not the gasket between intake and head where the vapors go?

Could you provide us with a picture of the actual leak? Maybe something else is leaking - or maybe the tube is bent?
But im sure you've checked that like 300x already =D

Sorry guys I've been working on my other M20 lately

but today it looks like I'll be able to put my intake manifold back on. This time being sure to put RTV under the washer. If it leaks again I'll take pictures.
