HELP what ECU do I need??????

Currently have an 86' es (2.7) and recently bought a 2.5 out of a 4/87' production model to swap. The problem is, the PO already had the motor pulled, and no ECU, so I'm trying to find the right one, how would I go about finding out which Motronic I put in??? I have the vin from the car and have looked up info on it, but I just need a little re-assurance so I don't screw anything up... Thank you in advance!

If it helps you helping me, the part numbers I've found so far are:

12 14 1730527 (Labeled as; Basic control unit DME)

12 14 1748264 (Labeled as; AT-CONTROL UNIT MOTRONIC)

It came with 153 but look for 173/525/380.

^that, and to add to the list: 164, 173, 179, 380, 381, 382, 524, 525, 526.... I know there are a few others.
