you keep the oil temps down. its always a good thing. sounds like you either have a habit of running into things or just bad luck with oil coolers.

Sean - that plug worked perfect. Pain in the ass to get it in (I replaced it on the car lol) but the leak is gone! I was going through 2 quarts every week - NOT good. Now it doesn't leak at all.

Now that my engine is all set, my driveshaft and rear subframe bushings have gone south on me. Guess I'll just work my way backwards...

Congrats on the progress. What size fan is that? Looks huge!! :)

If you do anything beyond stock I would be hesitant to get rid of it.

              BWAHHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA

              ITS FUCKING ALLIIVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

              FUUUCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

You have NO idea how excited I am right now!!!!

Maybe you do - but damn dude, it went pretty smoothly!

It was tricky to get in, I covered everything with towels to help protect the motor - unfortunately, in the process, I managed to scratch my valve cover pretty hardcore. But, that's ok - Scott should be able to get er fixed.

Engine dropped right in other than that, after being tilted to a 50deg to 60deg angle. lol

Got everything wired up, and went to turn it over - click...click...click.

Remembered I forgot the ground cable.

Fires RIGHT up. I left the fuel and spark disconnected at first. Then my brother came out and wanted me to turn it over for him. Had the spark, but no fuel - and it fired up! LOL Oil is combustable...heh

Got everything else hooked up real quick, coolant, AFM, etc etc - turned it over and fired it up after a couple times to firing up and shutting off, to make sure oil pressure built.

Aside from that, it fired up INSTANTLY - and idled PERFECT! It sounds sooo smooothhh. Gave it a bit of gas, and it revved up to 1500-2000 just fine. hehehe

Damn guys...This is so cool. I look at that motor, and I'm beaming - I BUILT THAT THING!

              AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Just had to share the excitement! I'll get pictures soon - I'd rather get it on the road first, be prepared for another huge post with well over 50 pictures! :D

Yea, I'm running mine because it is a stroker afterall. Not to mention I'll be tracking lots and autocrossing abunch - no reason NOT to have it. I replaced all the seals and everything, so it should seal perfectly. So far, no leaks - but that's only after a couple minutes. ;)

No problem, man! I'd love to share my knowledge, you ask - and I'll answer to the best of my ability! ;)

Yea, Scott, I had a hell of a time OUTSIDE of the car. lol I can imagine how big of a bitch it was. Amazing how that silly thing cna leak so much. Glad it stopped the leak for ya! :D

That's a bummer about the driveshaft man - but keep workin, it'll all get there!

Fan size is 16 inches in diameter - same size as the fan clutch. I'll get the pics up soon - I made my own brackets and mounted it in place of the condensor - it's about a half inch from the radiator. My next step is to wire it to a relay. ;) Looks badass in there with the radiator behind it too! Pics soon, I promise!

                  Congradulations man!! Big congrats!
I remember when I rebuilt my top end.....I was so proud of it, and so excited. There is definitely a sense of accomplishment when you pop the hood and just know that YOU built that.
                  And again, CONGRATS!

Congrats Sean, seriously. It's a whole different feeling firing up your car every day knowing YOU put the motor together, a very good feeling. Now let's see some pics! :)

Good job man, and congrats! Lotta work and detail went in, thats how I like it!

I am envious now that you get to drive around with an engine that you built. Gotta be so nice feeling... Mmmmm

                      Sick!

Pics soon guys, I promise. I really wanna get it on the road. I'll combine the next batch with some cool shots of my car back on the ground. ;) Hopefully I can roll it out soon enough to give it a bath...but I'm going to drive around tonight with no hood...so we'll see.

And yes...it's exciting as hell, Chris. I was nervous, but there was somehting in me that just said, "It's gotta start. Everything is working...it has to. If it doesn't...I'm goin ap-shit". I mean, seriously...EVERYTHING was plugged in, and I knew it.

And sure enough - it did! Sure smoked a ton on first start up - gotta love the ring's initial seating! ;)

Yea...Curt. Dude, I can honestly look at my car and say that I'm no longer disappointed in the performance side of it. Knowing that if I wanted to, I could make some changes and squeeze more power of her...AND that it's completely rebuilt...is such a nice feeling. Hell - even when it's not moving and just sitting there running, it puts a smile on my face.

Nothing like driving your all time favorite car with a motor that YOU built. The only thing I didn't do was have the machine work done...other than that, it was ALL ME! MEE BABY!

                          Pics soon, very soon! ;)

To bad I can't invite you all to the celebration party tonight - my friend is throwing me a party at his house in celebration. HAHA - time to drink it up! w000t

Took for a drive tonight. Runs great!

I'm a bit bummed though that I had to get coolant all over my block to bleed the damn system. lol Also - my headers are already looking like Jordan's did, where my VHT paint is beginning to bake...which sucks - I was hoping they'd stay silver. lol

Pictures soon. Time to go celebrate with my friends!

                                Indeed!

I need to get my interior back together, and then get the car on the road for break in! YAY!! lol

Oh - my front end is higher now, due to the lack of A/C I'm guessing. Any ideas on how to get the IE3's lower? My front pads are already gone. Maybe I just need to raise the rear a bit more to even it out?
