Hey, ok i'm slowly but surely making progress on the 885 head with a 325E block. I was doing a little digging around looking for affordable pistons if i needed them, and started seeing way to much back and forth arguing on what work and what doesn't. Pretty much what I am asking is..... I have a 885 head and a 87 325E block that will be going in what pistons will work ie: stock or otherwise. Any help at all will be appreciated because I will hopefully be sending the block off to a machine shop soon to start its journey.
2.7I in progress help appreciated

130 mm rods are a must with OEM pistons.
you can use ETA pistons as they are or M20B25 pistons and remove about 3 mm off the block and get a cam gear to fix the timing. also SETA pistons would work well out of the box89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

Yes.
The deck height of an M20 is 206mm. With an 81mm crank, the throw(maybe not the right word) is 40.5mm and the eta piston compression height is 35.7mm. With 135mm rods those pistons will be 5.2mm out of the block.
If you want to use 135mm rods, you need custom pistons.Comment
