I need you guys help. A couple times recently I have had my throttle get stuck open. One time I pulled up to a light had it in neutral and it was running around 4k. I touched the gas and it reset like it was stuck on something. I was checking it out this am and man is the cable the nut and plastic rusted and old. I know I need to replace thus item, but for the meantime I was hoping to tighten and clean up the original parts.
My true problem: I went to tight the cable (it has some serious play) and I couldn't even budge the plastic piece to tighten it. The cable is so rusted it is stuck. Can I spray wd40 on this part to help smooth it out and work on loosing the parts? Or will that do more damage than good?
