    M20 head rebuild

So i started to take apart an amc head and noticed that the rocker shaft were tight and had to force it out. While doing so broke 3 rocker arms. Now removed all intake valve but now the exhaust valve do not slide out and gets stuck by the valve seals. I followed the head rebuild diy on a cracked 885 head and was easier than the acm head. Would i need new exhaust valves or can it be saved when i bring the head to get it resurfaced.

What? You need to keep tension off the rockers when you are pushing out the rocker shafts. I'm not sure if that helps but look up a writeup, you should do fine.

The seals have a coil spring around them to keep them tight to the valve, they should push through with a little force. There is no reason to get the head resurfaced and not do valve guides while its at the shop. Look in your Bentley to see how to check the valves for straightness.
If you broke 3 rockers in disassembly, you definitely want to check your method. Is an AMC head an OHC? Maybe I'm missing something.

AMC is an aftermarket m20 head. take to a good place that reconditions heads they will be able to tell you after seeing your particular head etc. its not that expensive but vale guides does bump up price some

IF you released the rocker pressure,

then a tight shaft (heh) is an almost sure sign of a warped head.

If the rockers were still holding valves open- there's no way to sugar- coat this- you have made an error.

Or you pounded on the end of it. I did that once- it takes remarkably
little gentle persuasion to deform the end, and remarkably little deformation to
make the stupid things stick tight in the head.

The tops of the valves can mushroom, especially aftermarket valves, which one might
expect in an aftermarket head. Take a file and file 'em down so as not to damage the
guides, then throw them out when they come out.
