    Bucking / stalling (video included)

Recently I had a new TPS/ CPS/ Temp Sensor (blue plug) installed on my 88 SETA 2.7i. It was fine for a couple days. Now its bucking / stalling only in 1st & 2nd gears when it is at operating temp, video included.. Its perfectly fine at freeway speed or above 2.5k it works fine but will sputter below 2.5k.

I've cleaned my ICV, checked my fuel relay and fuel pressure. Its not a vacuum leak otherwise it wouldn't hold idle. I know later models only have 1 CPS and I'm pretty sure I didn't get the wrong one but I couldn't get my hands on a bosch one so I got this VEMO one. It was a bit different from the other CPS I had it was fully exposed where as this new one had a hole on it. I included a picture below to show the 2 different ones. I'm hitting a wall here and don't know what else to do.

Have you smoke tested for vacuum leaks?

I had trouble with an aftermarket CRS. Make sure to check resistance value. My new one was way off and eventually had to be replaced. A used OEM part worked better than the new aftermarket part and is still in the car today.

        Did that already no results.

CRS? I kind of just want to plug in an old working CPS just to see if its the problem but I would like to buy new for the peace of mind.

          Any CELs?

Is absolutely only in 1-2 gears? Can you roll at 5mph and shift to 3rd and accelerate smoothly?

No CEL's. Never shifter to 3rd @ 5mph but yea itll go for a bit and start acting up also.

Very interested in other's responses. I too bought the one in the upper picture, but it doesn't even allow my car to start; mine is made by FAE. What is the resistance value your new one is showing compared to your OEM one? My FAE is at around 860ohms and the OEM one is around 560ohms. Clearly the FAE is too high...

It seems like the car will start in the morning or after it has sat for awhile but will act up again when its at operating / warm temp.

If your car did not start at all you are lucky. I drove around for a year wondering WTF until I figured out that the part was junk.

I had really similar issues with my 86 325. Bucking, hesitation, stalling at operating temp. It turned out to be the engine speed sensor. Does the SETA have both still?

If so, I would replace both.
