Thanks! It wasn't that bad, really. Now the clutch master cylinder I did at the same time- that was tedious.

Nice video. I actually just had to do this with my 318is last weekend. it is definitely nice to see it in your video, a luxury I obviously didn't have. This should help people who attempt this.

A few comments:

1. The 318is has a different cable and attachment point than the m20 cars. this doesn't make it any more easy/difficult though.
2. I used the same screw driver and hammer method to remove the old cable. It is so far up there and so awkward to access, do not bother with pliers.
3. On the 318is there is a clip on the strut tower that holds the throttle cable. I am not sure if that is on the 6 cylinder cars but did not see it in your video.
4. You do not show disconnecting the throttle cable, but I reused the black rubber grommet on the throttle linkage under the dash. This was a pain to get back into place, but I found putting the rubber grommet in the hole of the metal throttle linkage, then pressing the hook on the throttle cable into place. Due to the groove in the rubber and the bulge on the hook, it is near impossible to press the rubber into place while simultaneously pressing the hook through the center. Do the rubber grommet first, then press the hook in after, it is way easier. Also try some lubricant if it is not cooperating.
5. After installing the cable, adjust the cable for slack so it doesn't have any spring tension at all. This makes sure the throttle is completely closed when you are not pressing it. On the 318 cable there was a plastic adjuster screw that could be used to fine tune this

The hardest part of the job was getting the old clip out of the firewall and the new one in as there was not much room between the booster, fuse box, and master cylinder. The second hardest was getting the grommet/hook connected back up. All in all though it was pretty easy and now I have a crisp (working) throttle. Great idea for a video!
