Stupid Rotella/Filter Question

The oil filter doesn't care what oil you run and to my understanding rotella diesel oil has a fair amount of zddp which you def want.

For an extra coi of $$$ I'd go with mobile 1 15-50... High zddp as well as a top notch oil

I run Rotella 15w40 diesel in the m20 and s52 without any issues.

The filter is good, just don't use a Fram one.

Valvoline Vr1 20w50 (I use the conventional as well) for the summer, 10w30 for the winter. Purolator filters are great if you can source them, as are Napa Gold (made by WiX). STP is a decent low cost alternative.

My E30 fleet (and the Fiat) run exclusively on Rotella 15W40 and Bosch or Mann filters. I do let the cars warm up a bit if its REALLY cold outside, but otherwise I use it year-round.

The Rotella is pretty cheap when you catch it on sale. I've never had an issue finding it at the local AutoZone store.

Walmart stocks Rotella year round for $13 a gal.

Did a simple search on zddp content of Rotella and Castrol. Both contain about the same amount.
