    M20 track oil pan

    Hello guys,

I'm new to the game so I'm trying to learn as much as possible.

For the track do you guys recommend swapping out my oil pan for an aftermarket one? I've seen some guys install oil pans that don't let the oil shift to one side of the pan so quick. My car is stock. Should I even worry about this?

I don't think there are any performance aftermarket oil pan for m20. I have seen people modified their own pan with a baffle though.
Bought parts from me before? leave your feedback here

Got it. I don't have the skills so I guess OEM oil pan it is. Lol.

      Thanks!

there is baffle that can be added easily, it sits around the pump. drill a few holes add a couple bolts....

Also a crank scraper is easy but fiddly. id do this if a track car and you didnt want a full on track sump

Paul Poore made a few pans, they are rare since he longer makes them. best thing to do is like what others have stated is to weld in a baffle and use a good quality crank scrapper.

This is the most commonly used one with SPECE30, but be warned they take their time and will have to stay on top of them.

            Baffle, yes.

Scraper, not so sure, as it creates a ledge for oil to build up on in lefthanders...

I run currently both, and have more pickup problems than I used to with just the baffle.
I'm going to pull the scraper next time the engine's out, and see what happens.

            One data point.

now, sometimes I just mess with people. It's more entertaining that way. george graves

So do you recommend running the OEM oil pan?

Keep your stock oil pan. Buy a crank scraper and oil pan baffle from Ireland Engineering. Baffle install only requires drilling a few holes inside the oil pan.
