When I had an M20 20-50 conventional Valvoline VR1 ONLY. M20s like the ZZDP and I did a lot of looking around a number of years ago for formulation data and going from memory, VR1 has something like 1700ppm of ZZDP in it.

My 1fz in my FZJ80 and my Duramax both get Mobil 1 Delvac 1 (synthetic group IV) in the 5-40 flavor, my Wifes Tahoe get either the same Delvac 1 other than in the dead of winter then I will drop it back to 5-30. And the old winter beater tahoe with an L31 gets Conventional Delvac 1300 in the 10-30 flavor.

I like the CJ-4 Diesel oils due to the very high ZZDP content (1300-1550ppm and the Delvac 1 is on the very hing end of that scale) the added shear resistance and less viscosity loss over longer maintenance cycles. They have been developed for extended drain intervals for over the road tractors that I will never subject to even close to the same level torture of 20k miles of high boost high load.
