Camshaft seal not sitting evenly. Will it leak?

Finding it hard to press in the camshaft seal evenly. I have a 36mm socket that fits perfectly around the lip of the seal to press it in. I recall when taking it off that it was perfectly flush with the outer lip. My new one I seem to have pressed in too far. Do I need to remove it and start over? I do have a spare seal. Also since when does a regular imgur upload get this big....

Left is higher then right side? If it was me I would just redo it even if you have to buy a new seal. It's not worth the risk if it does leak.

if its evenly pushed in a mm or two further than before its ok provided its not sitting on a previous worn groove. usually its a good idea to have it sitting slighty further in or out from previous so it hits a fresh part of the shaft as long its not binding or out of square/twisted

I thought I had read that somewhere. It's as even as I'll get it for now. I will be taking it back apart over the winter to truely clean the engine bay anyway so if it does seep I'll find out
