    Transmissipn Shield?

Hello, new member here, just picked up an 89 325i, I was underneath the car and noticed that I could actually see inside the front of the transmission.. it seems like there is a cover or a shield missing in between the front of the transmission and the oil pan also noticed some threaded holes on the tranny that look like something should be there.. the guy I bought the car from replaced the clutch so I'm thinking he never replaced the shield. am I right about there being a missing shield? where can I get one if I need one? thanks in advance

Yeah, you're missing the cover and the engine bump stop. Spendy to buy from the dealer, best bet is the local pull-a-part. The same cover is found on the 525, just without the bump stop.

Four bolts from the bottom, four bolts from the bell housing. Only a few minute job.

The bolts on the bell housing are torx bolts.
