    Idiot Dumb Person Problems

Cannot for the life of me find this other male connector here.

This is just after a timing belt change.

        Aptly titled thread.

Both connectors shown are the same, if you swap them the car won't run.

I know, I know - I am incredibly inept when it comes to cars I bought this one to learn and teach myself as I go.

That's one of the few locations where the usually logical BMW engineers slipped up and put two identical connectors close enough together to mix them up. Even the wires to the female connectors are the same color! I had to trace wires back to the ECU connector via continuity to figure out which was which.

Could this be my no-start problem?

The male ends are all burnt and covered in scorch marks, I don't have my dmm with me or I would check it..

Which I suppose I should have done before even asking.

So, if I understood that correctly, that is most likely my problem?

ODB1 is not throwing any codes or responding to uh.. ODB1 activationl; left/right turn signals do not turn on blinkers and only create a loud, dull buzzing sound.

Still no idea what the correct order of CPS/Spark Plug Sensor is.

you need the main relay to be in the right spot for the car to start if that wasn't clear or if you never put it back in/ got a new one

                          I got a new one.

I took the distributor cap off to double-check my timing and found a broken rotor and cap so pretty sure that was part of the problem.

Now you get to figure out WHY they were broken!

Check and make sure that the engine hoist bracket is not missing. The cap & rotor can grenade if that bracket is missing.
