I'll be doing s head gasket replacement to fix an oil leak. What else should I replace while im in there? I'm counting on replacing the exhaust manifold gasket. The water pump and timing belt were replaced recently. Anything else I should consider while im in there?

Intake manifold gaskets, head bolts of course (they are one-time use only), valve cover gasket and rocker shaft plugs, oil drainback tube o-rings. Also remember to check the valve adjustment only after the head has been re-installed and torqued. Use an OEM BMW head gasket for best reliability.Comment

Thanks for the recommendation. Anyone have anything else? Where is the best place to buy the parts? I'd probably go to pelican by default but I'm not sure I'd there is a place that is typically cheaper.Intake manifold gaskets, head bolts of course (they are one-time use only), valve cover gasket and rocker shaft plugs, oil drainback tube o-rings. Just a hint...
When re-assembling torque the head bolts to the initial 22ft-lb. Then re-install everything else, making sure the cam timing is correct. The last step is final tightening of the head bolts. The reason for this procedure is that you won't have to replace the head bolts again if the head has to come back off.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
