I just finished the 5 speed swap. All I did was pull my motor and put the 5 speed on it and then put it back in I didn't mess with the head or anything all I did to the motor was do the oil pan gasket. And now there is coolant in the oil "milkshake" no oil in the coolant also It burns coolant coming out of the exhaust. But I did the head gasket (and intake and exhaust gasket and valve cover and timing belt and all that) 6 months ago it's only got 500 miles on it and It didn't leak before and I even drove it from OK to KS and the head gasket didn't leak. Is it leaking if so why?!
Just finished 5 speed swap now coolant in oil

Just pulled the head off
I just pulled the head off and the head gasket is fine. Why was it leaking coolant into the oil then?!Comment

Pressure test before pulling the head would have given you an answer. The heads like to crack under the camshaft, and are not visible.
Now that the head is off, you can take it to a machine shop and they can pressure test it off the car.Comment

how common is it for the head or block to crack? were having the same issue with a b25 we just refreshed. ran a little hot while trying to bleed the m42 rad. now i'm afraid the (VR) HG is gone and possibly the head. luckily we have a spare head but i'm hoping the block is ok.
OP, post a pic of the HG. do you know what cylinders were leaking?Comment

Head cracks are fairly common. I have a pile of them here at the shop. They crack along the cam journals and are easy to diagnose. Pressurize the cooling system (pressure tester works best) and take the valve cover off. If you see water droplets coming out from under the cam and going down the drain holes, it's cracked. I have had several cars that come in after they did a HG and couldn't figure out why there was still coolant in the oil - we pressure test every head now and even made a setup to do it in house to save the $75 the machine shop charges.Comment
