    Ignition sequence

After labeling my sparkplug wires and checking the rotor for damage I realized I'm an idiot! I forgot to mark the cap and lost some of my labels on the cables...

After consulting the e30 bible (Bentley ) I'm not that much wiser since that manual shows the m20's with the rotor attached to the timing comer. In my car the rotor is next to the engine like the image below.

My shop manual says to put cylinder number 1 on top dead center/TDC or is it regular TDC like for the TB? And plug in the first cable to where to rotor is pointing, is this correct? And the firing sequence is the same as the m30, 1-5-3-6-2-4?

So basically I want to know where to plug in number 1, I feel like an idiot for all this dumb question. Thanks in advance!

Yup- put it at tdc, wherever the rotor is pointing is #1. Easy.

I've done that before- it's embarassingly hard to fix...

Great, thanks a lot for the advice! Sometimes a manual makes it more complicated then it really is

      Cheers!
