M20 compression and leak down question

    87 325is Turbo with MSII, numbers on compression test were cylinders 1-3 (120) cylinder 4 (115) cylinder 5 (0) cylinder 6 (70).

Doing the leak down on the 5th cylinder I hear and feel air out of adjacent cylinder 4 & 6 BUT I also hear air from the dipstick tube.

Was thinking full bottom end rebuild because of the dipstick air but could it be possible that the air was rushing down from the tube under the intake that runs to the crank area?

I know I'm not going to be 100% sure till I pull the head but was wondering if there was any hope I didn't have to work the bottom end.

    Please let me know. Thanks.

if you're going to pull the head out, may as well do the rings.

I can see the air from the dip stick due to #5 bad rings.....but

from 4 and 6 plug holes? That's weird. Were your # 5 valves completely closed when doing the test?

Not if your valves are closed and holding, in which case you'd hear air from the intake as well
