    Warped 885 head, salvageable?

    Looking at my spare head and wondering if i should bother with getting it decked.

    If a head is warped it needs to be pressure tested then straightened first. You don't deck a head to fix warp

      This. I can't tell you how many heads I've see that were ruined because of excessive warping. Once a head is warped the cam binds and takes out the bearing surfaces. If out of spec, the head needs to be bolted to a block with shims under it and heated/cooled until acceptable.

      Having trouble what those numbers mean. Normally I will use a machinist's straight edge and slip feeler gauges under it. .001" across and .003" long ways is the specified limit.
