A friend of mine turned me onto Shell Rotella T5 15w40 at $18 a gallon. Seems to run great. -

i saw that video long ago and dig it... to be honest i have used all kinds of different oils... i have 270k on the clock... still purrs. from what i can tell, everyone uses a different oil in their cars.
i would say the argument is sorta mute.

High Zinc might be good idea when running M20 having bad reputation to wear out valvetrain due friction. That's why I've used 10w-40 meant for big diesels. But this is just a religion, based on rumours.Leave a comment:

Cant say I noticed any new leaks with about 100 miles on it since the change. Will watch for it. Already trying to run down a coolant leak.Stay away from this oil...I think. I used to use Shell Rotella 15W40 then switched over to Chevron because of the price. My car has a small oil drip from the pan now. I think Chevron has more detergent and it cleans the deposit from the oil pan and created my small seepage. It might just be coincidence...Leave a comment:

Liquimoly Ceretec additive looks pretty good as well, read up on it. I think I'm going to try it out at my next oil change.

I've been using Mobile 1 15w50 in my M30 and it's nice to see confirmation that it is a good street oil choice.Leave a comment:
