Problem solved, turned out to be a bad ground at the power steering bracket.

Before I did that I'd verify...a well charged battery w adequate voltage, good ground connections & jump the solenoid to eliminate it

started a topic 325i very weak cranking power

    325i very weak cranking power

    Hey guys,

My E30 has been sitting for about a month now because I was replacing the cylinder head. I disconnected the battery before I got started with removing it.

Today I finally installed everything, topped of the fluids and reconnected the battery. Only to find out it has a very weak crank. First though was that it would be the battery that had drained empty.

I used an other battery from a friends car but it still has the same problem.
I tried tapping the started motor but that chances nothing..

What do you guys think it might be? Could it be my starter? Before I parked the car into my workshop it cranked just fine.

    Thanks,
    Martijn
