    Weird Main Relay Issue

'88 325i vert. Engine only starts/gets spark when I jump the main relay, it won't start with the actual relay installed. I've tried two brand new relays (both are OEM) and neither work. Is it really possible I bought two bad relays? What else could be causing this problem? Thanks.

Test the relay pins using 9v battery or similar and see if it switches correctly

I'll try that. Just wondering what else it could be. I'm stumped.

If you know putting power from #30 to #87 lets the car run, I would focus on #85. I think that is the ground signal form the ecu?? Wiring diagram says its a green wire from the MCU called the "Main Relay Control"
