So, much to the chagrin of my wife I bought another project. It's an 88 325 auto. I will be pulling the engine/trans to do a 5 speed swap. While its out I'm going to change timing belt and water pump. Here's the important question. What else should I do to it? I have everything (I think) to swap it to motronic 1.3. Pull the head and install "i" cam? Headers? lightweight flywheel?

Your 88 should be a “super eta”, so it would be a good candidate for an “I” cam and ecu upgrade. As said above, you don’t need to do that at the same time as the trans swap, but if you do take the motor out...Comment

Also a good time to check and replace any rubber, ie. fuel lines, coolant, etc.
