    Urethane Motor Mounts

The m20 seems pretty smooth at idle. Is there a better upgrade than urethane MMounts? PO had installed a heim joint from the motor to the chasis to prevent movement. I'd like to remove that but install something a little more stiff than stock.

Is it true that urethane mmounts and rubber trans is the way to go?

The motor does not jump or miss at all. Is there anything else I'm missing that will make me regret removing this motor movement arm and not just going to stock rubber?

I have yellow poly-urethane motor mounts from www.bimmerworld.com as well as hard rubber tranny mounts. I am satisfied with the vibration transmission and have no complaints whatsoever. The shipping took a year and a day, that's all.

Why there? You guys have a ton of suppliers for the e30 that I never knew about. Why not IE or BavAuto?

I think that bimmerworld is a faction of IE. That could explain the long shipping time!

LOL.... IE wants $45/each for the mounts. stock are $15. Would I be better off going another route?

There has to be a better, cheaper solution out there for our cars that is closer to the $50/pair price point... Anyone?

EDIT: Thought I should share: My recent experience with IE has been top notch. It is obvious that Jeff has heard the feedback and done something to correct. You get great service on the phone and really fast shipment - or an honest answer like "parts will need to be ordered - expect two weeks" and the parts show up when they said they will.

It's hard for guys like IE to compete against the big parts shops when Jeff is on the floor actually working and not driving a desk.

I paid about $85 for the pair of engine motor mounts. Spend the money on them, it's worth it. You'll have much less engine movement.

You got the ones from AKG? They transmit a LOT of noise/vibration in the car just to warn you haha. I like them though.

I've got the same setup. Barely any nvh transmitted into the cabin, gains are firmer shifts and better responsiveness.

THANKS!! The GF will love that!!!

I'll start with just the motor mounts and swap trans mounts only if I can stand the noise, etc.

Yes I got the AKG ones...

They said it shipped today (this morning) I'll report back when I get them. I'd assume that I'll have them by Friday if they went USPS 2-3 day priority mail.
