so why is my oilpan sitting so low?? rubber engine mounts? i am running votglands and my pan is litteraly like 3.5 inches from the ground..this shit sucks...how do i get it higher??? i am becoming the roads bitch
I don't have any problems. If you lower your car get firm springs, good shocks and don't drive like an idiot. I have been driving my DD on H&R race and Billy sports for 13k miles without any issues. The PO didn't have any either. Not one scratch on the pan.
I would certainly make sure your motor mounts aren't collapsed. But I would not mess around with spacers, since you'll knock your driveline out of alignment and kill the u-joints and/or csb that much faster.

i used some other mounts, did the job just fine, houston streets are bad i drive super cautious but ive been through like 7 pans, so i raised it up..now its sitting higher than the cross member and steering rack..super high

Granted Houston roads suck but if you've gone through 7 pans then you're NOT driving cautiously ......much less super cautiously .
Slow the fuck down and watch where you are going . ;)
I demolished one completely racing a GMC truck.
It was a bitch to remove (had to hoist the engine and loosen motor mounts)
It ran the same after the install, thank god.
I haven't trashed one yet either. But then, I'm running oem suspension too ;)
I did replace a trashed gasket, but what do you expect of 15-yo gasket material? I wouldn't say the install was easy, but it wasn't the most difficult diy I've encountered either.

haha they suck, after the first one it scared me because i was going like 20 on the freeway, i drive slow anyways..especially over bumpy roads..but they still get creamed. but i dont have to worry now.
