Unknown 3 pin wire hanging out...

I just bought another e30 after not owning one for over a year. Yesturday i picked up a 91 325i coupe cheap and been doin some work to it.
I found a 3 pin wire just hanging down by the alternator and cant seem to find what it leads to. It Not the pulse sensor or the crank sensor wire.
    heres a pic

I don't remember how many wires are in the connector, but the oil level sensor is in that general area as is the evap purge valve, ICV, and TPS.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

i agree with tps, it could be the tps though if its long enough

the oil level sensor wire is a male connector

evap purge valve is 2 wires

Haha, I was just about to post asking about the same thing. I just noticed mine hanging today. This wouldn't have anything to do with a rough idle would it?

why the hell is it zip tied way over there? if it is your TPS, it would definitely affect idle, and essentially retard your timing and fuel maps to the "part throttle" area.

our wiring harnesses are very simple.. I don't get how you guys can lose where things go.

To the second guy asking about a plug, that is for your barometric pressure sensor. Should be somewhere on your airbox.
