        An alternative weight..

        Here's the M20 engine weight without the bulky AC and Powersteering pumps (not to mention RHD ITB's instead of the stock intake manifold).

            that looks like a lot. I was able to lift/lower complete bottom end on/off the stand by myself. No, I'm not a big guy. Assembled head+alt+ITB's can't be that much.

                bare block is 42kg
                crank is 24kg
                bare head with 2xshafts and cam is 18kg

                already at 190lb

                    Is it much heavier than M20?

                      Reviving a dead thread that was the first result in a search for engine weights. This is an N52 and ZF 6 speed fully dressed except for fluids, engine arms, exhaust manifold, and wiring harness. Balance bar was tared out and weighed about 13 lbs. Click image for larger version
