okay the car starts very easily cold or warm, today the high was about 40* and my car was ideling very weird, if i just sat in park the idle was about 700-800prms(normal enough)no surging, but when i was driving through stop and go traffic at like 5mph. everytime i would go and then stop the idle would drop down to about 400-500 rpms and then come back up. if i would just crawl forward everytime i let off of the gas the idle would fall. do i need to clean my ICV? im pretty sure i have no vacuum leaks. i already installed a new oxygen sensor and intake boot and cleaned the MAF. my fault code reads 1444.

Unless you're chipped, 87 is what you should be running in an M20b25. Says so right in the owner's manual. I would second the ICV, if you're sure you don't have vacuum leaks (which can also cause the symptoms you're seeing).The current fleet:

okay so the car still does this. at idle the car runs great, but when put in gear the idle drops so about 600 or 700 rpms normal, but it will sometimes drop to about 500rpms and the clock will dim then comeback then dim, this all happened after i jump started the car. i need help its a very annoying problem especially when driving through a dirvethrew.

Every little bit helps. I dunno if that would help the idle problem, but it might fix something else that was wrong that you didn't even know about ;). My friend's IX has a bad idle becuase of the ICV. Turn the car to "run" without starting it, and pop the hood. If the ICV makes a constant buzzing noise, it is time to get a new one. Even if you don't, I would try cleaning it with carb cleaner or something.Comment
