    Another 2.7i question

    Alright,

I got a i top end for free, everything.

When I swap it on, can I use the factory eta harness inside the car and just swap plug the engine harness into the C101 connector? Or do I need the whole harness from the i?

Last question, if I put a chip for an i engine on the 2.7i swap will it work or will it just mess everything up?

    Thanks

    Sam.

Yes you need the i harness, the injector rails are different and the sensors are different you also need the i harness so you can plug the 1.3 #173ecm in an with a chip you can rev 7000+.

On second thought you have a 87 so can you tell me if you have a CPS or reference sensors on your bellhousing? You might allready have 1.1 harness and all you will need is the 1.3 173ecu and plug it in.

I have 2 sensors on my bellhousing.
Are you refering to the timing reference sensor?

So you're saying all I would need is the head with all the little bits like injectors, idle control system and I can use my harness I have now.

      Thanks

Because you have the two sensors on your bellhousing you are going to need the total 1.1/1.3 harness which has the crank sensor on the front near the harmonic balancer.
