    Will the M20 survive SEAFOAM?

    I have a M20B27 block with approx. 180K
I'm suppose to use 1/3 of the can through the brake-booster/intake manny?
Also pour it in very slowly. I've heard speculation that the use of seafoam brings up the possibility of it maybe eating up gaskets?

Anyone care to give any pointers about this sthufff?
I'm going to film the process and put it up in the afternoon tomorrow.

seafoam=goodness. but reset your battery after words, mine said that my oxygen sensor was bad, and it made the car go really slow, but then i reset the battery and its faster than ever.

-Thats cuz they used it wrong, or their car had very bad running problems in the first place.

seafoam kicks ass. have used it on a couple different e30s and it made them all run a bit smoother and/or perform noticeably better.
we've run it right into the intake manifold through the vacuum line there every time..
i don't know if it's different than any other method, but if you do go this route you'll need to keep the revs up a bit with your free hand or have a buddy do it as the car will want to die as soon as you stick the line into the seafoam

i know i've seen a couple other threads about seafoam so you'll probably be able to get a bit of info with the ol search function

I just finished giving my 325i a SeaFoam enema: a full can in the tank, half a can in the engine oil, and two more cans thru the intake. The reason for such thoroughness is I have a smog check coming up (plan on doing the sniff test tomorrow - wish me luck). My cars' drivetrain is entirely stock and so far the performance has been very good. Nothing massively noticable - it fires right up and idles smoothly, mid-range punch is only slightly down from the JC Chip I used to run yet I haven't run it long enough to note any gains in fuel economy. As I said before, I did all this primarily for the smog test. Everyone else who has tried it gave good praise and recommended it. Lets hope all goes well tomorrow.

Here are my test results from this morning. The car passed but it just squeeked by in the hydrocarbons department. To prepare for this test I SeaFoam'd the heck out of my car (in the tank, crankcase & 2 cans thru the intake). I also changed the oil and filter, installed a new O2 sensor and re-installed my barely used catalyst (running a testpipe most of the time). Lastly, my clutchfan crapped out a while back so I removed it and never installed another one. During the test the heat was going full blast and the tech at the testing shop put a big fan in front of my car while doing the test.

Now the results (all stock M20B25, aftermarket cat, 3.73LSD, 87 OCT fuel, 197,8xx miles on the clock, air temp ~60F).....

If the image is a bit unreadable, here are the figures....

Go for it, seafoam made a noticeable difference on mine.
