for people who ask why do this, maybe the OP was tired of getting his oil cooler ripped off on speed bumps like I am. I'm on my second oil cooler and just ordered that threaded nipple for the oil cooler delete. Is there a significant temp difference without an oil cooler? is there anything else I need besides the threaded nipple?Last edited by abepark; 11-13-2008, 08:09 AM.Comment

if you're destroying your oil cooler over speed bumps, I can't imagine your valance is very pretty looking and the rest of your undercarriage is probably destroyed, so go ahead. :up:Comment

i have a good reason to remove one.
My Gf is about to start driving a lowered 89 325is and i dont want to have to repair it when she runs into a parking block.
Im thinking about moving it up behind the grill if not removing it all together.

whats that a pic of? instead of running to a cooler you have the lines run to a res?
so what do you need to run a I without an oil cooler? I just bought the nipple thing that threads into the block, do I just throw the filter in the other side of it? It seems to me I need a housing of some sort, anyone have a pic of an E engine near the oil filter?Comment
