Oil in intake boot... ?

    Oil in intake boot... ?

    Took my intake boot off, and found some motor oil in the corrugated ridges, and a little in the opening of the MAF. What does this mean? Please dont say its oil pushing past my valve seats... the car runs great and pulls hard.

      a small amount is normal, if it's enough to drain through the AFM and into your air filter, then I would worry.

              i have the same problem my TPS is oily i need to clean my intake due to idle problem,before that i have to install an oil catch to prevent this to happen in the future and lessen my HP. lol

                  There are two possible causes for oil in the intake. One is worn valve seals and the other is worn rings. A compression and leakdown test will usually reveal which is the most likely.
                  The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

                      there is that crank case vent that vents right right into the intake. it could be coming form there.
