ok so i rechecked the resistance 1000 ish between pin 1 and 2, and open between 3 and 1 and 3 and 2. it was the same for both sensors. would they both go out at the same time? my book says 100,000 ohms between 3 and 2 or1 and i am getting open on both. also the connectors on both sensor sides are brittle one broke off in the harness side connector and i had to dig it out. . . . . .
why does it have to be a "dead end"? why not just "end"?

yes, it was very nice to drive my car to work this morning. the used parts store that i bought it from is top notch also. I do not plan on doing anything to this car other than drive it because i am looking for a vert to play with.
