it probably comes out less black because of weaker detergents in the oil, or the last couple oil changes have already flushed most of the crud out..

I have ran Advance Auto Parts Oil with have a jug of Lucas Oil Addative in the winter and a full jug in the summer for 6 years now. I dont have any complaints and I hit redline every day!Randall Racing and Engineering

bearing spec are ALWAYS make with a certain oil weight in mind check out the machinist handbook 2nd ed. and it will be in there. You are giving up power with thicker oil.bring it http://athomasmr23.mybrute.com
