I can't seem to get the bottom to go down where it needs to, perhaps the lower o-ring is jammed somehow. Time to get all greasy I guess. Based on Jordan's pictures I should be able to fit the tube in after the manifold has been installed. Husband has been doing bulk of work, since I have a broke arm. Trying to work on things an arm down blows.

I would put the tube in first, with zip ties holding the spring together at the bottom.

put on the manifold, cut the zip ties and make sure the tube is seating in the o-rings properly. done. :)

Agreed. I tried to test fit mine without the spring on and with the manifold in place (just to see if it was possible). I don't think it is possible to do it that way without bending something. BMW should have made the darned thing a two piece tube so that it could be done that way.

Anyway, take the manifold back off and then put the tube in. Your broken arm will thank you.

Yea, the tube has to go in first. You can't get it in once the manifold is on the studs.

The old o-ring still stuck inside the block is a good possibility. I think I had a problem with that as well. It really should just slide in there without any force (till the spring is released).
