    325i Flywheels?

    Hello,
I am about to swap in a G260 into my automatic '89 325is.

    Transmission: 250.0.1346.90
    Car: '89 325is, Motronic M20

My problem now is that I cannot get my hands on the stock dual-mass flywheel (part #11221706573). The single-mass "i" flywheel (part #11221706575) is also backordered. I'm trying to find alternatives, but I really just don't know enough about these transmissions to make a move with any confidence. I've gone through these forums to find an answer and end up only getting more confused since each situation is a little different. I see there is a single-mass conversion kit from Valeo, but I've read that it only works on eta cars and not the "i" cars.

If anyone can recommend me a flywheel and clutch combination that works and is available (or has a dual mass flywheel they're looking to sell), I'd really appreciate it!

Note: I'm not looking for a super light flywheel or anything like that - this car is my daily so I'd like something that is smooth enough to drive around town no problem.

All manual 325i/is models had single mass flywheels. Unsure what the difference between those two part numbers may be, but my ‘90 325is and ‘89 325i are both equipped with the part # ending in 573, which is a single mass flywheel.

So if you come across a used 325i flywheel, buy it and get it resurfaced. And a standard Sachs clutch kit will complete your setup, like this one...

Or get an RHD 7lb flywheel for probably the same $$ as buying a used one and getting it machined.

I have a 325i flywheel lying around. Bought an entire drivetrain but ended up finding out the hard way I needed a different transmission and flywheel with early pickups for my swapping my eta without also wiring in the i engine.

I can check the PN tomorrow and try to figure out how much it is worth but mostly would want to clean out my garage.

yeah, M20B25s don't need a dual mass flywheel. There are probably aftermarket alternatives that aren't ultra light (RHD I'd consider to be good, but also very very light).

Also, Heeter, you should hang onto it - E30 parts are better than being invested in a 401k these days!

Yeah, I know... I sold a 173 ECU with chip a while ago trying to clear out my garage/basement and regret it (since I am considering a 2.7i build now and already have a harness, i cam/springs, and all the bolt-ons for free plus a spare eta). What is worse is how little I sold a medium case 3.73 LSD and spare axles for...

I'd ask at least $150, I settled for less than that. But would probably garner $200-250 in the right circles.

Those might be open diff prices. LSDs seem to be going for 2x that
