    B35 with a magnaflow 36008 and 11216

Since the flex section on my stock b35 downpipes cracked recently (see http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/atta...1&d=1263089256 ), it expedited the process of getting a custom exhaust made.

Just got some 2" and 2.5" AS tubing, 180 U bends, dual 2" into single 2.5" section. I've thought about getting 14815 but decided against it after reading complaints about it being too loud etc. I decided to give magnaflow 11216 single 2.5 in / out muffler a shot. I already have the ca legal 36008 cat on the car, but I've been using a stock 325i rear section.

416stroker is using this muffler with his m50 swap, and I am curious how it will sound with bigger displacement and sohc vs dohc engine.
(See his thread for a sound/video clip http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=116816)

I'll make a sound clip or two this weekend if there is interest and I don't forget my camera...hopefully won't be raspy or too loud lol.

I like the low rpm sound but it's too raspy for my liking when it gets up there, hopefully the M30 will suit it better. Definitely interested in a sound clip of yours.

Alright, after about 7 hours of work here is a quick video clip. dual 2" before the cat, dual 2" into single 2.5" after the cat.

Charlie doing all the welding, I am doing all the grinding and cutting.

      Front section tac-welded

rear section tac welded before clean up

of course nothing ever goes as planned

Such a huge difference when the exhaust is done right, nothing is rubbing under the car, made the interior quiter.
Exhaust has a nice deep sound at idle and while driving, has a slight rasp only at WOT. Made the car much more enjoyable to drive now :)

It sounds really good going down the road, real quiet unless he jumps on it and then it raps pretty good.

              I liked it.

              Fuck I'm tired.

It will get quite a bit louder when it breaks in mine did. altough his cat is way more restrictive than mine.

It sounds good Jean, just a hint of "there's something up with this" to make you pause.

                          Jean,

What did you replace the broken stud with, when we pulled out my B35 from the e34 it was running with one broken off!

                          Thanks

                            Kris,

It's actually on 1 stud right now, surprisingly. I should have a replacement manifold this weekend to replace it with .

Wow that sounds really good. I think I'll go with something like that, but I need dual outlets and it doesn't look like they offer them in the 4x9 size
